    Class Expectations

    Hello class,

    Just wanted to say “glad to have you in class”  and  it will be an exciting year. If you have any questions blog or email me @ teach2educate@hotmail.com. This class will be hands on, physical and technological based.  Here is the class information.

    Supplies: Grady uniform, hand wraps, flash drive and sneakers.

    Grading Policy: Participation 50%, Projects 40% and Discussions 10%.

    There will be a total of 4 projects, 2 group projects and 2 individual projects.

    1st will be  a power point presentation

    2nd will be a 3 min routine with music of what you have learned in class.

    3rd will be a poster representing an era in boxing along with a paper.

    4th will be a podcast pertaining to a paticular boxer that will have studied…more details to follow later.

    First project will be due on December 2nd 2008. This will be a Power Point presentation. You will need to have 8 slides total. You must select a boxer we studied or one of your choice with my approval. You must have each question as a subtopic present in your presentation. 1)Who is the boxer? 2) What were his/her contributions to boxing? 3)Discuss the biggest fight of his/her career and why? 4)What was going on politically during his/her career?   5)How did the world receive him/her as a boxer? 6)Discuss your reason for picking this particular boxer.  You must have selceted your boxer by September 23rd 930pm.  If you do not have a boxer by the given date, you will automatically lose 15 points on your first project . 

    Remember if you do not come prepared you will get a zero every single time. If you do not have your wraps you will be marked unprepared.

     

    Project #2

    3 minute routine of all the boxing moves we have learned in class.  You must be able to add music to your routine.  You can select anything with 120-180 beats per minute.  The routine will include all footwork, punches, and style.   Due date will be December 14-20th 2008. Be prepared to go.
